A pair of putting drills can help your students in the short term while helping your business
in the long run
Putting is certainly not the easiest part of golf, but it is the simplest and the shortest swing motion. From the instructor’s standpoint, it’s also an area where you can see a lot of success in a short period of time. Getting people to understand the importance of putting and how they can improve their scores that way is a key to my approach and success as an instructor. I came up with two drills that help golfers overcome the most common putting faults that I see on a regular basis. The idea behind both drills is to give my students something to do versus omething not to do. The drills help golfers create new positive movements in their putting strokes. It only takes me five minutes to explain and demonstrate the drills, then it’s a matter of the students finding time to practice on their own. As an instructor, it is very nice to be able to give your students something that’s going to improve their game that doesn’t involve a lot of technique or jargon – and something that creates instant improvement.
